Education Technology

What is education technology? I don't know. But I am learning. For me education technology is a Black Hole. I am learning the basics of navigation for general word processing. I am acquiring a small foundation of photoshop skills. I would like to progress toward having the skills to create a web site/index page. I have know idea what a delicious tag is but I need one of those, too. My concept of links is 'linking turns', as in going skiing (but I get the feeling that this is irrelevant to computers). Blogging is apparently what I am doing right now. At the risk of sounding bitter (which I'm not!), this seems rather trendy. Is it presumptuous to think that anyone would care what I have to say on a computer journal? If so, who are these losers with nothing else to do? Shouldn't they get out from behind the cloak of cyberspace and experience the reality of the real world? Perhaps trying interpersonal communication skills in a face to face setting would be beneficial.
Practical applications of computer technology. I do not have the capacity to comment on this since my reservoir of computer knowledge is empty. However, in EdTech class I do feel that I have opened the gate to the canal of knowledge. It is frustrating for me to realize that I am computer illiterate. At risk of sounding arrogant I have always been good at everything that I do thus I remind myself to embrace this challenge. Unfortunately, in the time its taken me to learn the computer basics that any 2nd grader is familiar with I have fallen farther and farther behind. In this regard, I am the diverse learner identified in the No Child Left Behind standards.
My goals were lofty at best when I entered this classroom. Realistically, I am now aware that it will be miraculous for me to complete all of the course objectives.
But I will NOT give up.
